This 24,000 square foot YMCA project incorporates the renovation of an existing 11,500 square foot courthouse building with a 12,000 square foot addition. It contains a rotunda entrance lobby, a natatorium with a lap pool and hydrotherapy pool, locker rooms, exercise rooms, an aerobics room, a multi-purpose room, a child watch center, and an administration wing. New mechanical and electrical systems will include pool area humidity control.

The 5 acre site will be developed to include a family park area and surface parking for 148 cars. Future expansion will include a full-size gymnasium, exercise rooms, and additional locker rooms.

One of the largest of the Metropolitan Los Angeles YMCAs, this project combines unusual architectural shapes with extensive use of glass. The central area contains a distinctive circular building element which houses a Family Activity Center containing a 30-foot-high rock-climbing wall and space for aerobics or other activities. The 34,000 square foot community and physical activity center expansion consists of a 6,000 square foot multi-purpose room with catering kitchen, several meeting rooms,

a community/pool viewing area, child watch center, senior citizen center, counseling center, an administration wing, and a lap pool. 42 additional on-grade parking spaces increased the total parking area to 242 cars.

Heavily damaged by the 1994 Northridge Earthquake, this recreational facility was completely remodeled and reconstructed. The new facility houses a large indoor pool, an administration wing, child watch center, exercise rooms, an aerobics room, locker rooms, and a circular main rotunda entrance leading to a viewing gallery. Site work included a roller hockey rink, a basketball/volleyball court, expansion of the on-grade parking, and rich landscaping throughout.

Located on a 3.3 acre hillside in Northridge, California, this 34,000 square foot YMCA includes a full size gymnasium, a natatorium, locker rooms, exercise rooms, an aerobics room, a ready to be fit room, a community center, an administration wing, and support facilities. A future childcare center is being designed to accommodate up to 80 children. Surface parking is provided for 140 cars.

The Hollywood YMCA is a 78,325 square foot registered historic building composed of 3 connected structures dating from 1921, 1927, and 1968. The renovation includes 2 weight rooms, a large aerobics room, locker rooms for men, women, boys and girls, training pool, lap pool, whirlpool, 2 gymnasiums, 6 handball courts, and a major recreational facility. An administrative wing, restaurant, multi-purpose rooms, counseling center, youth hostel, and 2 floors of transitional housing with

a kitchen were added to the facility.The building received a complete code upgrade, including seismic and disabled accessibility provisions. The project received the Hollywood Arts Council Award for design excellence in 1996.
