History
of the Firm
The firm was
organized as Pereira and Luckman in 1950 with a beginning of 10
employees in Los Angeles. It rapidly grew to national stature
with offices in both Los Angeles and New York. In 1958, the firm
was reorganized as Charles Luckman Associates. Soon the firm had
additional offices in Boston, Chicago, and Phoenix.
In 1977, Charles
Luckman, FAIA, retired and the direction of the firm passed to
James Luckman, AIA. The firm became known as The Luckman Partnership,
with all operations being performed in the original office in
Los Angeles.
With the retirement
of James Luckman in 1991, the leadership of the firm was assumed
by Mr. Luckman's partners, Roger Chikhani, AIA, and Frederick
Yerou, AIA. Under their guidance, the firm expanded its expertise
into community-oriented projects and not-for-profit client facilities.
The firm continues
to provide services for new projects as well as for renovation
projects, for clients in both the public and private sectors.
Current project types include commercial, retail, medical, public/community
uses, and educational facilities.
Now celebrating
its 50th anniversary, the firm has designed over $6 billion worth
